Make Up Days

The board has approved March 29 through April 1, as make up days.  These days were originally on the calendar as spring break but due to the weather this winter, school WILL be in session.  Good Friday, April 2, will remain as scheduled.  Other make up days will be posted as information becomes available.
 

Grading Period Extended

Please note that the Third Grading Period has been extended by one week due to the inclement weather this winter.  The Third Grading Period will now end on Friday, March 19, 2010 instead of Friday, March 12.  Report cards will also go out a week later on Friday, March 26.

 

Ohio Enforcement of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

The Ohio Department of Education soon will make changes in the way it monitors, enforces and publicizes Ohio school districts’ compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, which ensures a free, appropriate public education to students with disabilities. The actions result from the partial settlement of a class action lawsuit. For details, read the legal consent order and related public notice .
 

Symmes Valley District Rated as Effective

Symmes Valley Local Schools was rated by the Ohio Department of Education as "Effective" for the 2008 - 2009 school year.  We are very proud of the effort that has been put forth by our staff, students and parents to achieve this distinguishment.
